Syllabus
The APPSC Group 1 selection process for all posts follows a consistent procedure. Candidates must secure a position in the merit list at each stage to advance to the next. The stages are described below:
Prelims Test: The initial stage is a written test designed to screen candidates for the next stage. This objective-type exam covers general awareness and mental ability and is worth 140 marks.
Main Exam: The Main Exam, which is also written, consists of 5 papers that assess candidates’ knowledge and abilities. This stage is valued at 750 marks and will be conducted soon for various posts.
Interview: The final stage is an oral interview. Selection is based on performance in both the Main Exam and the interview, with the interview worth 75 marks.
The APPSC Group 1 Exam is conducted in three stages:

The History and Culture section covers topics from the Indus Valley Civilization to Modern Indian History, divided into Ancient, Medieval, and Modern Indian history.

The Geography section of the APPSC Prelims Syllabus includes General, Physical, Social, and Economic Geography.
